Design & Display of Lava Iris 821:

Though Lava Iris 821 comes with a cheap price tag but externally this smartphone doesn’t look or feel cheap that much. The LED flash and back camera appears right on the upper left corner, on the back side of the phone. The speaker is living on to the backside of the device right below the LAVA logo. The Power and Volume Button is placed on the right-side panel. Lava Iris 821 comes with a dimension of 143.8 x 71.1 x 8.9 mm & weight of 137.9 gm. Well, it can feel a bit fat but considering the overall getup that surely isn’t a problem.

The display quality of Lava Iris 821 is fascinating. It comes with a 5 inch 2.5D IPS Capacitive Touchscreen display with Corning’s Gorilla Glass technology. The display resolution is 720 x 1280 and pixel density is 294 PPI which are a Wow! considering the price. Usual goodies like Proximity Sensor, Gravity Sensor, and Light Sensor is also present to delicate your experience.

Hardware of Lava Iris 821:

Under the hood, an MTK6580 1.3GHz Quad Core processor is powering the smartphone with a Mail-400 GPU. Yeah! The weak Mail-400 could be a reason that can make you upset but then again, considering the price, it is suitable for the device. Lava Itis 821 comes with 2 GB Ram and 2 Micro Sim Card slot. It also comes with 16 GB internal memory which is expandable up to 256 GB — a bright side indeed.

A Lithium-ion 2500 mAh battery is keeping the device alive. Battery backup is average. But well enough to take you through a full day — depending on your usage though.

Camera of Lava Iris 821:

The Lava Iris 821 comes with a 5-megapixel front and 8-megapixel back camera. The camera quality of this device is more decent than what you’d expect from a device with a price tag like this. It has got all the usual goodies you need including Autofocus, HDR, Panorama, Face Beauty, Auto Face Recognization etc. Color production is satisfying enough again considering the price.

Software & Connectivity of Lava Iris 821:

The Iris 821 is running on Android v6.0.1 Marshmallow with Lava’s own custom face which is known as Star OS. The interface of Star Os is really incredible. Flat and Sharp icon with a colorful interface made the UI look amazing. It is also featuring features like musical keypad tone, custom gesture. Apps like WowBox, My Contacts and Fun Store are preloaded on the phone.

Talking about connectivity – Bluetooth, GPS, GPRS, Edge, WLAN and all other common features are present on the phone.

Verdict:

Lava Iris 821 has some amazing features. It has a great look, fascinating display, decent camera and storage management.  On the other hand, it also has some dark sides like lack of OTG support and weak GPU. But hence, this device gives you more than what you’d expect and get from a low-budget smartphone like this.  And end of all its value of money is the key reason what makes it one of best smartphone that you can buy in this price range.

Currently, this device is available in two colors – Gold & SpaceGrey. You can buy this device directly from GP Store. Grameenphone is also giving Free 1 GB Trail Data, 2 GB Data & 100 Min Talk-Time at BDT-59 and A 8 GB Pendrive for free.
