EA Confirms Next Battlefield is set in WWI – Named as Battlefield 1
Coming worldwide on October 21, 2016 for Xbox One, Origin on PC and PlayStation 4.
When Activision is keeping themselves run forward into the future by taking Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare into the space their main rival EA is turning the clock on Battlefield — their most anticipated series of all time.
Rumors used to say that maybe the next battlefield will set in WWII this but finally EA has officially confirmed that the next Battlefield game is called Battlefield 1 and themed in WWI.
In the 1.19 minute of official reveal trailer we have seen stuffs like French tanks, biplanes, bayonets, Flamethrowers and a shovel, rapier, spiked baton which means its also focused on melee to give you the real taste of world war I — one of the major conflict in history of the world.
That was definitely a focus for us. On this topic Daniel Berlin, lead designer of EA DICE’s Battlefield 1 says that,
“It was a big part of the era, that mix between powder-based weapons and hand-to-hand combat. It was important for us to lift the importance of hand-to-hand combat, and also the depth and meaning of what weapon you choose or what types of gameplay you want to focus on. But one thing which makes us.”

Another thing which attract us, was HORSE! Bringing a horse in a battlefield full with tanks, biplanes and industrial weapon seemed a bit silly. But Berlin simply replied that,
“In true WWI fashion, you can bring a horse to a tank fight.”
EA also confirmed a single player campaign like always which will take place in the Desert of Arabia, France and Italy. Undoubtedly EA is very ambitious with this game. In a blog they says that, “With Battlefield 1 we set out to create some of the largest, most dynamic battles in FPS history while continuing to tap into what fans love most about the franchise. One of the things that makes World War I such an amazing era is just how advanced it really was. Almost everything that you know about the conflicts of the next century, from the massive battles across land, air and sea, to the powerful and efficient weaponry, is there. Tanks, planes, machine guns, artillery – a lot of the tech you’ve used in other Battlefield games was perfected during this era, letting the classic Battlefield DNA shine through.”
It seems that EA is really gonna unleash something really huge this time.
